Fusion

In the interest of advancing the process of functional cooperation in the region among the ordinary folk, the Pinelands Creative Workshop and the Malick Folk Performers of Trinidad, got together on the 14th of October 1988, and formulated the "Fusion".

Fusion, represents the coming together of cultural grassroots organizations in the region for the purpose of sharing resources in a way that would impact on the development of culture in each nation state, while addressing the cultural differences and similarities which impede regional togetherness and understanding.

Since its inception the Fusion has attracted organizations from, Tobago, St. Vincent, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Dominica, Antigua, St. Lucia, Grenada, and Guyana.

Due to its interest and work in the region the PCW has hosted and facilitated many productions form the region and beyond. One such initiative was the outstanding production of "Shades of Ishe", which featured a highly talented Caribbean cast. Since its showing in Barbados the cast voiced interest in taking the work through the region, and sought to engage the services of the PCW to facilitate the exercise.

Six countries have been identified to host the production and initial funds has been secured from UNIFEM for the activity, which is schedule to kick off in October-November, 1999.

The PCW is also engaged in a regional initiative funded and supported by Texaco Eastern Caribbean and Oxfam GB, which seeks to support community building and enterprise development in Dominica, St. Lucia and Grenada, using the PCW model.
