Programme 2001
Homework/11 Plus Programme Term 2:16th. Jan - 29th. March/Term 3: 3rd.May-June 28th./Term 1: Sept. 18th -Nov.29th Fees: $15 per Term
This programme is designed for children in our sporting and cultural groups and also other children in the community who need assistance with homework. The 11 Plus session targets those who are preparing for exams and need the extra tuition.
Parent Programme First Program starts Sunday,Feb.18th.Topic: Money Management & Debt Traps Subsequent Dates: March 18th; June 17th; August 19th; October 21st.
This programme seeks to develop parenting and social skills; and targets the parents of the children who presently are enrolled in the homework programme but other parents are welcome. Other topics will be based on the suggestions of parents/guardians but scheduled are:-Human Sexuality & Human Growth & Development/Signs and Symptoms of Drugs/Understanding Relationships/Communication.
Computer Training March/September/November(5 weeks)
Training is provided for those persons registered with the Centre seeking training in this field.
Employment Programme March 5th - 23rd.(3 weeks). Other Dates: June 4th - 29th; September 3rd. - 28th. Placement and Certification given ONLY on 90% attendance and completion of Examinations.
This programme looks at equipping young school leavers and other unemployed or under-employed persons for the "world of work". Topics include Writing job applications and CVs; Effective Communication; The Interview; Job Etiquette and Keeping the Job.This programme also includes Career Assessment; Training; Internship; Final Training; Placement and Follow-up.
Adolescent Workshop March 24th. - UWI School of Continuing Studies. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Lunch Provided)
This programme is designed to provide participants with information and skills that will enable them to adequately deal with some of the challenges of being an adolescent. Topics include Peer Pressure; Self Esteem; Interpersonal Skills; Human Growth&Development and Human Sexuality.
Enterprise Development Programme Phase 1: March 12th - 29th. Monday - Thursday Phase 2: June 11th - 28th. Monday - Thursday Venue: Parkinson School Lecture Theatre; Registration Fee: $50.Registration Starts Jan 1st.
This programme is designed to provide clients of the micro-credit division with additional business skills to assist in the growth and development of their enterprises.Topics include:- Customer Relations; Business Planning; Basic Bookkeeping; Money Management.
